Everyday Rapture on Broadway

If you are under 35 and live in New York City there is no reason why you shouldn’t be enrolled in HipTix. It is this great FREE program that gets people under thirty-five $20 tickets to all of the shows the Roundabout Theater company puts on. For those of you who haven’t shopped for Broadway tickets lately, $20 is an amazingly good price. A couple times a year HipTix will have a party for its members after the show. Sometimes the stars of the show come to the party and sometimes it is just free food and drink, but again, it is FREE! You can mingle with other theatergoers in your age group or just enjoy the view from the balcony of the conference room. The parties give the program a little something extra if you can get tickets on the night of the party.

Last week I went to see Everyday Rapture, Sherie Renee Scott‘s show through the HipTix program. There was a party afterward, but I enjoyed the show itself the most. The show was great. I had seen most of the show when it was off Broadway at the Second Stage theater, but I was excited to see how things had changed. The story is basically Sherie Renee’s story, which is rather interesting. She was a half-Mennonite from Kansas who moved to the big apple to perform. Sherie sings a lot of well-known songs to illustrate her story and she does a fantastic version of My Strongest Suit (from Aida) towards the end of the show. All in all the show was a fun ride that was well worth the $20 that HipTix charged!
