Room Service Thai Restaurant

Ninth Avenue between 42nd Street and 54th Street is a Thai food mecca. For some reason that I have yet to understand, Thai restaurants pop up and flourish all along this stretch. That being said, it can sometimes be hard to choose which one to stop in if you are in the mood for Thai food. If you are looking for something a little nicer and a little out of the ordinary, I would recommend Room Service.

The first thing you notice about Room Service is its interesting decor. The floor is covered in black and white tiles and there are mirrors and chandeliers hanging throughout the restaurant. The combination makes the restaurant trendy, but not fancy. The bartenders dress in adorable hats that grab your attention as well, making the experience different from your average restaurant.

The menu is eclectic. There are, of course, traditional Thai dishes like pad thai and various curries. But there are also unique dishes. One of my personal favorites is the Squid Ink Spaghetti. This is noodles cooked with seafood and black squid ink. It is really spicy, so if you are afraid of spice you should ask them to make it more mild for you. The prices are mid range, but if you go for lunch you can have a delicious, large meal for only $6.75 which is hard to beat!

Finally, this is a favorite drink spot of mine. The bar offers many different champagne cocktails for only $6 a pop. If champagne isn’t your style, the flavored mojitos are also really delish. I highly recommend Room Service for an out of the ordinary Thai experience!
