Robert Restaurant
The Museum of Arts & Design recently opened in my neighborhood. Although I haven’t gone to visit the museum yet, I did try the restaurant, Robert, one evening after the museum was closed.
Robert is on the 9th floor of the building and has an amazing view that overlooks Columbus Circle and Central Park. The view is the main attraction of this restaurant. Watching the lights along Broadway and Central Park West change next to the park is breathtaking. That being said, you can see the view without paying for a $30 entree. The restaurant has a comfortable seating area for having drinks with a great view as well.
I ordered the NY strip steak and my husband ordered the chicken cooked under a brick. His entree was better than mine, but neither one of us was blown away by the food. We did order tea at the end of the meal and that was the highlight of the meal. I hear that Robert offers afternoon tea with finger sandwiches and I would like to come back to try that some afternoon with relatives in town.
All in all, the spectacular view is worth stopping in to have tea or cocktails, but I wouldn’t recommend shelling out for the over-priced food.
