Match Game Live at 92Y Tribeca
I admit it, I have a little crush on Pat Kiernan. I bought tickets to Match Game Live at 92Y Tribeca with the hopes of interacting with him, and I did!
Match Game was a game show from the 70s where average people were paired with celebrities to see if they thought similarly. I watched a clip online where both the celebrity and the average person were read the following: BLANK HOOD. The celebrity writes down his or her answer and the regular person provides an answer out loud. If they match, you win a prize. In the case mentioned above, both celebrity and regular person chose to fill in the blank with the word ROBIN.
Last night 92Y Tribeca tried to recreate the show with six local celebs including Pat Kiernan. If you don’t already know, Pat is the morning anchor on NY1 and one of his talents is reading the headlines from the New York papers. He is really good at it!
I decided to be daring and throw my name into the hat as a possible contestant for the show mostly because I wanted to hang with Pat. Lucky me, I was chosen! (although to be fair, I think everyone who put a name in was chosen). I was given a question and Pat and I totally answered it the same way! While I didn’t end up winning the game, I count myself as a winner because of this.
All in all, this was a fun, unique event. The other celebs included Judy Gold and Sara Schaefer, to name a few. Often the celebs were looking for a laugh, rather than providing a likely matching answer, but that made the show more fun to watch. I am hoping to see more Live game shows in the future… maybe Let’s Make a Deal or even The Pyramid Game!

Nope, not Israel. I am the second losing Megan but Pat and I both said Santa so I count myself as a winner. And the show was hilarious… I hope they do it again sometime!
