Fuerza Bruta at the Daryl Roth Theatre

Fuerza Bruta is an amazing, unique theatrical/dance/musical event.  My 16 year-old cousin came to visit the city over the summer and we took him to see it.  All of us had a great time.

This is not your average theatrical experience.  The theme of the show is “Look Up” as most of the action takes place about twenty feet in the air.  You stand throughout the entire 90 minute performance and there are ushers that move you around throughout the show so that you don’t get too involved in the action.  The actors/dancers are on harnesses throughout most of the show and do amazing dances along the wall’s edges high above your head.  They dance to really good beats as there is a great DJ and the show even turns into a club like experience, where everyone dances, after the show is over.

The most memorable part of the show for me was the pool that the bring down above your head.  The dancers swim and dance above you.  They even interact with crowd members through the bottom of the pool.  It is really something pretty amazing to see.  Even better, the show does $20 rush seats on the day of the show and often promotes itself through other cheap  deals like the Broadway Box website so you won’t be spending a crazy amount of money.

Plan on going to a club after the show because you are going to have so much energy after watching these performers that you won’t be able to sleep that night!
