Sneak Peek of Whip It!

New York City is a movie town. There are always a range of great movies playing here. I was really excited to see Whip It and when I heard that they were doing a sneak preview of it in Times Square I had to attend.

Saturday night in Times Square is usually not my favorite thing. Times Square is almost always overcrowded and filled with tourists, and Saturday night is probably the worst time to be there. But I decided to make an exception to see this movie and I am so glad I did! I bought my tickets on moviefone.com. I don’t usually buy tickets from a service online, but when I am worried that something will sell out (like a sneak preview with a single showing in the neighborhood) I suck it up and pay the 2 dollar service charge per ticket. We got there early and easily found my perfect seats.

The AMC in Times Square is pretty nice once you get inside. There are 25 screens and stadium seating. The seats are comfortable and roomy. My only complaint from this trip was that the theater we were in could have been cleaned between movies. It was a little stinky. But I forgot all that when the movie started and I was swept away into the movie.

There is something about seeing a movie on a sneak preview night with a crowd that is really excited to be there. Sometimes a crowd can make the movie going experience more fun for everyone. This was one of those times where the crowd was great and excited to be there. After the movie everyone got a free T-shirt with WHIP IT Be Your Own Hero on it. New Yorkers love free stuff and this New Yorker plans to wear her T-shirt soon.
